Law Firm Secures Place On Legal Panel

Ward Hadaway has recently secured its place on One Manchester’s legal panel after a number of successful social housing wins for the team.

The social housing team at the Top 100 law firm, which has offices in Manchester, Leeds and Newcastle, now represents One Manchester, Leeds Federated, Your Housing Group, North Star Housing, Mosscare St. Vincent’s and Broadacres Housing Association following tender wins.

These six housing providers manage tens of thousands of homes across the north and are completely committed to building and developing many more homes each year.

What the new appointments mean is that Ward Hadaway will advise the housing and community services providers in Manchester on a huge variety of legal services, including development, employment, general commercial and multi-faceted matters. The contract will at first be for three years with the possibility of extension for another two.

Paul Johnson, Ward Hadaway’s Executive partner in Manchester will be leading the team which will consist of numerous specialists across the firm with a particular focus on social housing. This will include Head of Social Housing John Murray, Property Partner Julia Thomson, Head of Employment Law Harmajinder Hayre and Head of Commercial Law Colin Hewitt.

John Murray said:

“Our success in all of these tenders further reinforces Ward Hadaway’s position as one of the leading practices in the social housing field and is credit to the reputation, expertise and experience of our housing team.

“We are absolutely delighted to be appointed to the One Manchester legal service panel. It is a significant appointment for Ward Hadaway and we are looking forward to growing our relationship with them.

“This is recognition of the hard work that we have been delivering in the social housing sector and this appointment will certainly further strengthen our credentials.”
